Recipes are helpful because they give a cook a path. Ingredients, temperatures and timings reduce uncertainty, especially when a dish is new. But not every instruction deserves to become an unbreakable rule.
Your oven may run hot. A vegetable may be larger than the one the writer used. Someone at your table may need a different ingredient. Cooking well requires noticing those things and making choices along the way.
What stays with us
We want ZSR recipes to teach confidence as much as technique. Understanding why a blend works in a dish helps the cook adapt it to what is available. Taste, observe, and remember that a seasoning amount is often a starting place.
Food safety directions deserve special care, of course. Creativity should never replace safe internal cooking temperatures or allergen awareness. Within those boundaries, the recipe is there to help you cook your dinner, not somebody else's perfect photograph.
