It was a last minute decision...they said, “Make something with a hint of heat after the Flavortown of a solid spice spectrum drops the mic. Make it unique.”
We answered with combining 3 tablespoons of Zombie Powder with 3/4 cup quality butter, then melt. Mix that in a Pyrex measuring cup with a whisk. This way, one piece of equipment to mix, melt and drizzle (we’re not huge fans of packed dishwashers/sanitizers).
Take that golden concoction and drizzle all over an entire bag of Chex Mix that has been spread out on a baking tray. Give that now drizzled mix a good toss to spread that goldenized spice rub.
First, baked in the oven low and slow at 200 degrees for 40 minutes, pulling the mix out every 20 - 25 minute increments to stir with a spatula. Second and last step, smoked with maplewood for just over an hour at 250 degrees.
Try it. Tell us how it went as we welcome your comments. Might be some schwag in it for you =D
