Zombie Spice Rub Company started with two ingredients you won't find on an ingredient panel: a belief that cooking is one way we care for people, and a shared appreciation for a very particular corner of horror culture.
Founded in 2006 by Sultan and Jenifer Siddiqui, ZSR is a Colorado-based business shaped by family cooking traditions and an unmistakable personality. Sultan's kitchen lessons came from Momma, who taught far more than recipes. Cooking meant being useful, paying attention to people and making something worth sharing. Jenifer brought an affection for classic zombie films, along with the playful survivalist imagination that gave the company its name and visual identity.
See Spice Differently
Those influences eventually became a seasoning business with a simple proposition: bold, versatile blends should make everyday cooking more interesting and more approachable. The ZSR lineup draws inspiration from South Asian and Southwest flavor directions, and our message, See Spice Differently, encourages people to reach beyond familiar single-purpose uses for dry rubs.
The company sells to home cooks and works with specialty retail and wholesale channels. Our ambition is to make a jar useful on a random weeknight as well as at the weekend grill. Getting that right requires more than a memorable label. It means clear product information, repeatable flavor, thoughtful packaging and the operational discipline to support growing relationships.
What doesn't change
We build the business around four operating principles: customer obsession, high standards, inventing and simplifying, and thinking long-term. Those are practical expectations for how we develop products, respond to opportunities and work with partners.
The zombie name can be loud, and that's part of the fun. The purpose underneath it is straightforward. We want to help people cook for one another, make room for new experiences and build a company worth doing business with.
