Barbecue has always been a natural place for people to discover a spice rub. We love a good cookout. We also know that most dinners happen on ordinary days, often with a refrigerator full of ingredients and very little patience left for a complicated recipe.
That reality shapes the Zombie Spice Rub approach to seasoning. Our blends are intended to work across different foods and cooking methods, making the spice rack a tool for everyday decisions rather than a collection of jars reserved for special occasions.
Different blends, different jobs
Zombie Powder brings a sweet-to-heat direction built around paprika, chile and familiar aromatics. Zombie Breath leans into garlic and onion. Bone Cruncher brings toasted sesame and citrus-influenced savory notes; it contains sesame, an important allergen consideration for cooks. Wake the Dead explores deeper roasted flavor with espresso, chile and rosemary.
The family also includes Bone Daddy and Zombie Ghost, giving curious cooks additional directions to explore. Each blend is an invitation to experiment, not a command to prepare one specific dish.
What all-purpose should mean
To us, a useful blend can travel. It might season roasted vegetables one night, join a sauce another night, or become part of a dip when guests arrive. That flexibility doesn't mean every blend belongs in every dish. It means giving cooks enough flavor identity to make a confident choice, then letting them adapt it to the ingredients at hand.
We encourage people to start with a manageable amount, taste as they go and consider the salt already present in a blend. When cooking for others, ingredient and allergen labels matter just as much as flavor inspiration.
Our focus is to make those decisions easier. Sometimes all it takes to rescue dinner is a better flavor direction. Visit the ZSR recipe library to find ways to start experimenting.
