It is comfortable to order the same favorite dish every time. There is no shame in that. Familiar food earns loyalty for good reasons. But every so often, trying something unfamiliar can make eating more interesting.
Start with a small step. Ask the person serving what they enjoy. Order a side you have never tried. Listen when someone explains the dish rather than immediately comparing it with your usual meal.
Why it matters
That willingness to be a beginner matters to the way we think about food at ZSR. We have our own flavor influences, but there are countless traditions and techniques we have yet to understand. Respect begins with curiosity and with recognizing that somebody else knows more about their cooking than we do.
The result may become a new favorite, or it may simply teach you something. Both are useful outcomes. The meal does not have to be perfect to expand your perspective.
