A restaurant menu can tell you what is available. A photograph can show what somebody ordered. Neither explains what happened at the table, and sometimes that is where the better story lives.
One person might be celebrating a new job. Another may be seeing a friend after years apart. A family could be eating together after a hard week. The same meal takes on different meaning depending on who came and why.
The useful part
Our approach to food stories at ZSR begins with those questions. The seasoning is allowed to do its work without interrupting every human moment. We want to notice the cook, the place and the people who make a meal worth remembering.
Before you ask how the steak was prepared, ask who invited everybody. You may discover the reason for the gathering explains far more than the recipe.
